What to expect

1. Can you describe your social work experience, particularly any cases involving adults with physical disabilities or mental health needs?
2. What qualifications do you hold that are relevant to this role, and how do they prepare you for the responsibilities outlined in the job description?
3. Can you walk us through your process for conducting assessments and developing support plans for clients?
4. Describe your experience with Mental Capacity Act assessments. How do you ensure that you are making decisions in the best interest of the client?
5. How do you typically collaborate with other professionals in a multi-disciplinary team? Can you give us an example of a challenging situation and how you handled it?
6. In your opinion, what are the key components of effective communication and coordination within a multi-agency framework?
7. Tell us about a complex case you managed. What challenges did you face, and what strategies did you use to overcome them?
8. What is your understanding of safeguarding procedures? Can you give an example of how you have managed a safeguarding enquiry in the past?
9. How do you promote independence and well-being for the adults you work with, especially those with physical disabilities?
10. Can you share a success story where your intervention significantly improved a client’s quality of life?
11. Describe how you manage your caseload and any competing demands. What strategies do you use to stay organised?
12. How do you ensure that you maintain accurate and comprehensive records of your work, and why is this important in your role?
13. Continuous Professional Development is vital in social work. How do you plan to pursue your own CPD while in this role?
14. How do you utilise feedback from supervision to improve your practice?
15. The role involves hybrid working arrangements. How do you adapt to working from home versus being in the office, particularly in terms of service delivery?
16. Can you discuss your experience with using social care and health record systems? How comfortable are you with technology in your practice?
17. What attracted you to this position with Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, and what do you hope to achieve in this role?
