The post holder will have a recognised accreditation and be registered with a relevant professional body, such as British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) or other. The postholder will be working within the 'Pre and Post Birth Multi Agency Team' within Children's Social Care, based within London borough of Redbridge. This team will include a mix of social workers, health practitioners, family support workers, whilst working alongside third sector agencies. They will be working with a multidisciplinary team to deliver low to moderate intensity psychological interventions to support service users' build positive attachment and parenting styles, in addition to providing support to assist with managing their emotional wellbeing and mental health needs. They will assess, manage, plan and deliver care to support these needs. The main objective is to improve antenatal/ perinatal mental health, parenting and attachment up to the child's first birthday. This is a demanding role requiring a high level of professional skills and practice, and the ability to work as part of a wider multi agency team. To be responsible for a caseload of women and families with additional vulnerabilities who are being supported within the wider Family Help team in Children's Social Care. To support pregnant women and mothers of babies with low to moderate mental health and emotional needs. To deliver Parent and child interventions to support positive parenting and attachment styles. To deliver Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to help better manage their emotional wellbeing and develop positive coping strategies. To deliver person centred psychological support. To take a lead professional role when required. To undertake home visits in accordance with local guidance and policy. To work in collaboration with the multi-agency team. To be responsible for organising and prioritising own workload in the day-to-day allocation of work. To have organisational knowledge relating to Trust protocols and procedures and adhere to them, particularly administration of medicine and moving and handling. To be responsible for providing accurate records of information required by the Trust for audit purposes. To ensure effective risk management at team level by accident/incident reporting, assessing and controlling risk and ensuring residual risks are added to the Trust register.
