As the Head of Service Improvement & Efficiency (SI&E) for the Planned Care Division, you will be accountable to the Divisional Director of Operations, and working in partnership with General Managers, Clinical Directors and Divisional Nurses. The Head of SI&E is responsible for delivery of service improvement and transformation projects in the Division. They also hold a cross-cutting, trust-wide role leading work for the Improvement Board. The Head of SI&E will provide leadership on quality improvement and is a key member of the Division's senior management team. The post holder will lead the Divisional Service Improvement and Efficiency team to coordinate the divisional approach to service improvement projects. They will provide operational support and direction to the Divisional Team on matters relating to service improvement, in addition to any other work streams requiring project management skills and support. The Divisional Head of Service Improvement and Efficiency Manager will be responsible for delivery of service improvement and transformation projects in the Division. They also hold a cross-cutting, trust-wide role leading a Transformation/ Productivity Board. The post holder will lead the Divisional Service Improvement and Efficiency team to coordinate the divisional approach to service improvement projects. They will provide operational support and direction to the Divisional Team on matters relating to service improvement within the Trust's Improvement Programme (incl. Getting it Right First Time (GIRFT); Quality Impact Assessment of the Cost Improvement Programme; Quality Improvement Projects; Deep Dive Programme) in addition to any other work streams requiring project management skills and support. About us Key responsibilities 1. Work closely with all key stakeholders associated with the Service Efficiency & Improvement programme to identify improvement opportunities, including senior clinicians and operational managers, corporate services, and the other members of staff. 2. The post holder will be expected to lead cross-cutting themes such as Outpatients, Bed or Theatre Productivity 3. Work with key stakeholders in operations and corporate services, within the Trust and externally to establish the aims, targets and scope for the CIPs programme, and to subsequently co-ordinate CIPs delivery according to the agreed timescales. 4. Ensure that the clinical perspective is central to the work of service improvement/ transformationby working with clinicians to set clear priorities and ensure completion of quality impact assessments for the service improvement/ transformation programmes (incl. CIPs). 5. Support the Trust in facilitating discussions to encourage creative thinking, identify options, analytics and develop methods to realise the benefits of the service improvement/ transformation programmes (incl. CIPs). 6. Assist with setting up systems for measuring improvement/ CIPs, and to co-ordinate the collection, analysis, synthesis, and presentation of data in a variety of formats. 7. Lead and support the preparation of agendas and papers (including for meetings with execs); and undertake follow up work as required. 8. Ensure that any issues that are blocking the progress of the service improvement/ transformation programmes (incl. CIPs) are flagged and dealt with. 9. Communicate the achievements of service improvement/ transformation programmes (incl. CIPs) across the Trust. 10. Ensure that the patients voice and needs are at the heart of the SI&E programme. 11.
