The role also requires holding the senior midwife bleep. Work autonomously within trust policy, national and local guidelines, and within own scope of professional practice. Provide effective professional support to all colleagues in maternity services. Help to develop, deliver, implement, evaluate and modify individualised plans of care, ensuring appropriate pathways of care. Recognise the need for referral to other agencies as required.Evaluate local services against national standards/recommendations to ensure we deliver evidenced based care and best practice including establishing and implement protocols and guidelines for the trust Participate in research and clinical audit in own specialist area.
