The department is supported by an excellent consultant and middle grade tier. The Acute Medicine team run the Medical Same Day Emergency Care, and have excellent and supportive nursing teams. Our friendly atmosphere is frequently commented upon by past junior doctors. These positions have been created to increase our junior tier numbers to strengthen the team, particulalry in the Medical Same Day Emergency Care department. The applicants will be expected to have undergone appropriate foundation training or equivalent training. Previous experience in Acute Medicine and specifically Medical SDEC is essential. There will be opportunities to develop skills in an acute setting, quality improvement, teaching and training with 2 weeks of paid study leave, as well as 1.5 hours per week of paid self-directed educational development time. The Medical SDEC team work flexibly and reach into the Emergency Department, or redeploy to the AMU, as is required to best serve patient care.
