Main duties include assisting in provision of effective acute care treatment to patients in a timely manner, meeting Same Day Emergency Care targets without compromising the quality of patient care, participation in the departments Teaching and Audit Programmes, ensuring the departmental and hospital policies and protocols are respected and adhered and maintains, and carrying out duties as per GMC standards, trust policies.

These positions have been created to increase our junior tier numbers to strengthen the team, particulalry in the Medical Same Day Emergency Care department.
The applicants will be expected to have undergone appropriate foundation training or equivalent training. Previous experience in Acute Medicine and specifically Medical SDEC is essential. There will be opportunities to develop skills in an acute setting, quality improvement, teaching and training with 2 weeks of paid study leave, as well as 1.5 hours per week of paid self-directed educational development time.
The Medical SDEC team work flexibly and reach into the Emergency Department, or redeploy to the AMU, as is required to best serve patient care. The applicant would be expected to work with the team to continue this flexible approach.
