The QEQM Hospital Acute Medical unit comprises two short-stay Acute Medical Units (A & B), adjacent to the Same Day Emergency Care Unit. Our newly built 'Rapid Assessment & Majors' area within the ED footprint serves as an ED - Acute care interface for medical patients, overseen by the ED in-reach Acute physician and Geriatric / Frailty Team. There will be a contribution to the on-call weekday Rota of approximately 1:10 weekday (Category A = 5%) and moving forward a weekend commitment of around 1 in 18 with zero days off in lieu of working a weekend.
