The successful candidate will work within the newly built Acute Medical unit and will contribute to the weekday on-call rota, estimated at 1:10, along with a weekend commitment of roughly 1 in 18. This role also involves collaborating with various teams to maintain effective patient care pathways, with the aim of enhancing the overall clinical strategy of the hospital. Our acute medical services are supported by a co-located Urgent Treatment Centre, NHS 111 walk-in and a Same Day Emergency Care Unit. The QEQM Hospital Acute Medical unit comprises two short-stay Acute Medical Units (A & B), adjacent to the Same Day Emergency Care Unit. Our newly built 'Rapid Assessment & Majors' area within the ED footprint serves as an ED - Acute care interface for medical patients, overseen by the ED in-reach Acute physician and Geriatric / Frailty Team. There will be a contribution to the on-call weekday Rota of approximately 1:10 weekday (Category A = 5%) and moving forward a weekend commitment of around 1 in 18 with zero days off in lieu of working a weekend.
