The service sees residents of Westminster, Kensington & Chelsea and Hammersmith & Fulham who are at risk of falls. The post holder will work alongside a team of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and other Rehabilitation Assistants and will be supported by their Team Lead and Clinical Lead. The post holder will have a key role in helping to deliver strength and balance classes alongside therapists and will also work independently in clinic settings teaching exercises, checking memory, balance, fear of falling as well as measuring blood pressure. There will also be opportunities to work with clients in their own homes to improve mobility, balance, function and safe use of equipment under specific direction of a therapist. The successful candidate will be given specific training on various outcome measures and screening tools and once competent will conduct these assessments independently in community and clinic settings. The RA will work in a variety of settings including community centres, clinics and patient/carers own homes. The post holder will be expected to become proficient and competent in their area of practice by undertaking competency assessments specific to the area of clinical practice. The RA will promote optimum independence and individualised client centred care to a delegated caseload. The post holder will also support the Falls Prevention Team to deliver against key performance indicators and maintain quality of the service.
