The successful applicant will provide a high standard reception service for patients attending the Same Day Emergency Centre (SDEC) Reception Desk. They will ensure an excellent level of Data Quality is maintained when dealing with patient information andbe aware of patient confidentiality at all times within the Department. We ask all employees to be flexible in their role, to always ensure we are delivering Safe, Kind and Effective care. Candidates must be flexible to help us achieve a safe, kind and effective service. Key Responsibilities Uphold excellent standards in customer service, dealing with patient queries associated with the service. To be responsible for booking patients into outpatient clinics, admitting patients to SDEC whilst ensuring that all demographic information held on the hospital computer system and in the patients' casenotes are correct. To input all attendances and discharges onto the Cerner computer system. Respond to all enquiries telephone/visitors in a positive, tactful and helpful manner giving advice where necessary. To ensure administrative duties are carried out on a daily basis. Responsible for updating Cerner system to accurately reflect Patient location, in line with trust procedures. The cost of the DBS application is £23 (standard) or £43 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first three months of employment. You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. A small annual fee of £13 per year applies. New entrants to the NHS will commence on the minimum of the scale stated above.
