Our departments department requires a flexible and competent manager to oversee the management of medical secretaries whilst overseeing the timetable and liaising with consultants and nurses to increase our capacity and productivity. This role is to support the medical secretarial team and support the General Manager and Deputy General Manager to deliver Trust Objectives such as waiting list initiatives and clinic utilisation. Experience in working in the NHS environment is essential in this role to hit the ground running in this exciting role helping support the operational delivery and success of the departments within the Trust. The Trust aspires to deliver outstanding patient care for the population of Gloucestershire and you would play an important part in delivering our vision of being a world class service. About us - Ensure efficient and effective management of medical secretarial services within the Directorate. Providing leadership and day to day support to the secretarial team. - Develop and lead local induction/on-going training programme for medical secretarial staff in conjunction with Trak/IMT. - Support Deputy General Manager and Assistant General Manager to deliver Trust objectives eg waiting list initiatives, clinic utilisation. - Responsible for leading modernisation initiatives with secretarial staff to achieve continuous improvement in service provision. - Organisational management of medical leave A significant level of liaison with different departments is required and the successful candidate needs to have highly developed diplomatic and influencing skills. Attention to detail, excellent communication and organisational skills are key components to the position. Knowledge of medical terminology especially relating to cancer is essential.
