The role involves working across both the community and hospital bases, assisting the midwifery staff in providing care and support for women, their babies and their families. This role is varied and rewarding and its a great chance to be part of a hardworking and close knit team working to promote individualised care specific to the needs of the woman and her baby, whilst supporting the midwife in their role. This valued role uses additional skills to those of band 2 Maternity care assistant. You will be focusing on aspects of maternity care to enhance the experiences of women and their families. You will be working alongside, but under the guidance of practitioners at all levels from across the multidisciplinary team including, but not limited to midwives; obstetricians; ultra-sonographers; physiotherapists and advanced nurse practitioners.
