This position includes a considerable amount of manual handling and physical work. Qualifications And Skills Previous experience in cleaning, housekeeping, or portering roles is an advantage but not essential. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness. Ability to handle manual tasks and physical work, including lifting and moving objects. Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required. Understanding of health and safety regulations related to cleaning and manual handling. Personal Attributes Motivated and proactive with a strong work ethic. Reliable and punctual. Friendly and approachable, with a commitment to providing excellent service. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. This role plays a key part in enhancing the efficiency of our service with multi-skilled staff to improve the patient experience. The position is on a rota with 2 weekends out of 5 working. Key Responsibilities Cleaning Duties: Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and sanitizing in all designated areas. Clean and disinfect bathrooms, kitchens, patient rooms, public areas, and offices. Ensure all cleaning activities are conducted in accordance with health and safety guidelines and standards. Dispose of waste appropriately, ensuring recycling protocols are followed. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of patient rooms and common areas. Replenish supplies such as soap, toilet paper, and cleaning materials. Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate department. Portering Duties: Assist with the transportation of patients and equipment within the premises. Deliver medical supplies, records, and equipment to various departments. Support with setting up rooms for meetings or events as needed. Conduct regular checks on equipment and ensure it is in good working order.
