We are seeking a motivated and hard-working individual to join our Facilities team as a Facilities Assistant at Horsham Hospital.
The successful candidate will work as an integral part of the departmental team, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive approach within the Facilities Department. This role involves performing portering and cleaning duties across all areas of the healthcare premises to the required standards, ensuring a safe and clean environment for patients, staff, and visitors. This position includes a considerable amount of manual handling and physical work.

The position is on a rota with 2 weekends out of 5 working.

Qualifications And Skills
- Previous experience in cleaning, housekeeping, or portering roles is an advantage but not essential.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.

- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations related to cleaning and manual handling.
- Motivated and proactive with a strong work ethic.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Friendly and approachable, with a commitment to providing excellent service.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Key Responsibilities
- Cleaning Duties:
- Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and sanitizing in all designated areas.
- Clean and disinfect bathrooms, kitchens, patient rooms, public areas, and offices.
- Ensure all cleaning activities are conducted in accordance with health and safety guidelines and standards.
- Dispose of waste appropriately, ensuring recycling protocols are followed.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of patient rooms and common areas.
- Replenish supplies such as soap, toilet paper, and cleaning materials.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate department.
- Portering Duties:
- Assist with the transportation of patients and equipment within the premises.
- Deliver medical supplies, records, and equipment to various departments.
- Support with setting up rooms for meetings or events as needed.
- Conduct regular checks on equipment and ensure it is in good working order.
