An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time band 5 Nurse to join the Stroke Team at University Hospital of North Durham. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated person with an interest in Stroke to be part of our expanding team in delivering high standards of care to all our patients. The stroke unit at UHND is a 32 bedded unit with 8 dedicated to hyper acute stroke. Our aim is to provide a holistic care for acute stroke patients through a multidisciplinary approach by working with our stroke specialist teams of therapists, doctors and nurses. The unit receives direct stroke admissions from the paramedics, accident and emergency unit, emergency assessment unit and gp practices. One of the integral part of our stroke care is the provision of thrombolysis for eligible patients 24 hours a day and referrals to regional thrombectomy centers 7 days a week. The Stroke multidisciplinary team is passionate about getting it right for patients and their families. The post holder will be reposonsible for delivering a high standard of care to patients and their loved ones. They will organise and plan care, depending upon the patients needs ensuring all care needs are met. They will be accountable for their care and supported by colleagues. "}
