You will be responsible for the direct line management of a small team of administrators ensuring that robust and efficient systems are in place consistent with the Department of health Cost Recovery Regulations and Trust Policies. You will provide support to the overseas team to identify patients who may be chargeable to receive NHS treatment. You will need to be able to resolve complex and sensitive situations and liaise effectively with patients, relatives, admin staff, clinicians, senior trust managers, finance colleagues, external bodies and members of the public. Excellent communication skills and attention to detail are key to ensuring accurate details of overseas patients are obtained and recorded. To understand and comply with the Department of Health Overseas Hospital Charging Regulations. The role involves the assessment of patients and their relatives to establish entitlement to NHS funded care or liable for the costs accrued for accessing care. The role includes, interviewing patients, collecting copies of documents required to assess entitlement, running reports, maintaining local records and updating local SOPs in line with Policy changes, invoicing, responding to queries and complaints, this will be over email, face to face, letters and phone calls phone. You will liaise with external bodies including the home office and the immigration service to assist with patient assessments. As a line manager, you will be responsible for inducting and training of new staff, developing existing staff, annual appraisals, recruitment, absence management and minor breaches of discipline.
