You will be based at Brighton General Hospital and be working as part of a dynamic multi- disciplinary team working with a variety of health professionals, to provide a service to patients with chronic lung diseases. You will be responsible for providing administrative support to all team members. This is to include computerised information systems, word processing, developing and maintaining filing systems. You will be handling calls coming into the service, with both urgent and routine enquiries, as well as making calls out to patients, to make appointments and to check demographic details and gauge interest in our exercise and education programme. The successful candidate will have had 2 years previous administrative/clerical experience including at least 1 year in a health or social care environment. Excellent communication skills and a clear understanding of procedures in relation to data protection/confidentiality is essential. Highly developed organisational/time management skills, good team working skills and the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the team, working to tight deadlines with minimal supervision are also vital. To provide a comprehensive secretarial and administrative service to the Community Respiratory service, a team of multi-disciplined community practitioners. To communicate with the public, dealing efficiently with correspondence and regular inputting of client details onto the electronic notes system. To act as a key point of contact for the Community Respiratory service. Ensure that patients, other members of the public, external stakeholders and colleagues within the Trust receive a courteous and supportive response to a range of queries and requests for information. To play a key role in organising and supporting casework reviews and other multi-agency meetings. They will ensure that patient records are kept up to date and secure and respond to queries and requests for advice from junior members of the administrative support team. To work closely with the other team administrator for the Community Respiratory Service, providing cover for each other during any absences.
