Band 2 (with progression supported to band 3 on completion of internal competencies) Wednesday - Friday (08:00 - 16:00 30 min lunch) We have an exciting for a suitable candidate to join our inpatient orthopaedic team. The role is mainly working with and rehabilitating patients who suffer traumatic musculoskeletal injuries causing fractures. The rehabilitation required is provided in the hospital setting and requires planning to support patients to be discharge home or received ongoing rehabilitating in the community setting. The role will also involve working with elective orthopaedic patients who are admitted under planned care and require acute rehabilitation post-surgery. All relevant training will be provided to understand how to assess a patient, how to prescribe exercises, how to issue equipment and how to document notes. We provide orthopaedic services on Darent Valley, Dartford site but also at Queen Mary's, Sidcup. The role is based at Darent Valley but there may be a need to help cover on occasions at Queen Mary's. There will be opportunity for inpatient orthopaedic weekend work on a voluntary basis. However, the job description now includes a 7 day working note as the service may be consulted on to cover weekends as part of its remit. You will be able to demonstrate good communication skills and be able to prioritise your work. Computer skills are essential - training in local systems will be provided.
