The post holder will act as a skilled autonomous practitioner undertaking clinical duties within the Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit. Assess,disgnoseand provide appropriate management, patient information and follow up, in line with local protocols and NICE guidelines. They will work closely with the multidisciplinary team in the hospital and the community to ensure a co-ordinated quality service and will be actively involved in education, audit and research. The post holder will engage and lead discussions in multidisciplinary team meetings. They will be expected to provide a seven day service. Main duties of the job Work as an autonomous practitioner in the Early Pregnancy Assessment Clinic, and within Gynaecology To review urgent patients referred, to provide skilled assessment of women who present with pain and bleeding in early pregnancy, includinghistory taking, physical assessment and requesting, interpreting and acting on appropriate tests and investigations in a timely manner. Demonstrate specialist knowledge in the early pregnancy setting relating to diagnosis of miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy providing evidence based information to staff and patients.
