Main duties of the job The post holder will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the vitreo retinal out-patient clinics , providing holistic nursing assessment and care for patients . He/she will need to ensure the co-ordination of the clinic, identifying issues and acting to resolve within his/her professional remit . The post will require you to provide pre-op assessment for a defined group of patients within the service and will be key to developing this pathway for the future . The post holder will be required to work across both the emergency vitreo retinal service and out-patient clinics and as such will need to be adaptable and confident in working within pressurised environments . This role includes the education , emergency treatment and improving the patients pathways of patients undergoing emergency retinal detachment , raised eye pressures and complex diabetic patients across the service .
