This is a really exciting opportunity for a dynamic and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to be at the forefront of the continued development of a multi disciplinary CAMHS Learning Disability and Autism team across Hampshire. Having been successful in expanding our provision to children with Learning Disabilities, we are looking for a occupational therapist to work alongside the clinical lead and other disciplines to continue developing our OT offer within the team. The post holder will also help with the development of pathways and shaping the culture of the team. You will get to join a small group of dedicated and skilled professionals to develop a wider service from the ground up, so that these children and their families can receive best practice support for their mental health and behavioural needs. Historically, the offer has mainly been Learning Disability nurses and therefore the team are really excited at the prospect of having a multi-disciplinary team. The team has recently recruited a speech and language therapist. We look forward to finding an experienced occupational therapist to share the excitement and the opportunity with us. You will part of the wider Allied Health Professional workforce within Hampshire CAMHS which is a developing group of clinicals. Supervision will be given and there will be opportunities to access further training both internally and externally within the trust. As a multi disciplinary team member for the Learning Disability/Autism service you will provide specialist expertise around Occupational Therapy to understand and support the complex mental health and behavioural needs of children and young people with moderate to severe learning disabilities. You will work as an active member of a team, contributing your expertise as an occupational therapist within areas such as Sensory integration, Meaningful occupation and activities of daily living to help support with the overall care of young people and families who access our team. You will do this by carrying an OT caseload and work alongside the lead practitioner in delivery the support needed. You will also provide specialist occupational therapy consultation to CAMHS Learning disability and Autism (LDA) colleagues and wider networks You will link with other agencies and services to ensure seamless services responding to the occupational therapy needs of Children and young people (CYP) LDA with complex needs.
