This post will be supporting staff within Critical Care (Intensive Care and High Dependency) Units. You will work a significant amount of time within the clinical area(s) working alongside nursing staff to support and develop their knowledge, skills and recognise training needs. This will include pre-registration students, newly qualified practitioners and other new staff to the department, including Health Care Support Workers. You will also be part of the critical care education team delivering the competency based training programme designed specifically for newly qualified staff. Led by the Critical Care Clinical Educator, you will work closely with this post holder and the Senior Charge Nurse group and Clinical Nurse Manager to ensure education opportunities are fully utilised and relevant to staff needs. You will be a Registered Nurse with an ordinary level degree in nursing or healthcare (or equivalent). You will have evidence of career progression in critical care nursing (both intensive care and high dependency). A post registration qualification in critical care related nursing would be desirable. Evidence of bedside teaching and supporting new staff within the critical care environment is required.
