The Bed Manager works as an autonomous practitioner, and has the responsibility for the day to day management and leadership of bed management services including supervision and development of junior staff. You will provide clinical leadership related to effective bed management, including the delegation of key tasks and development of staff, support the effective placement of patients within the appropriate speciality, provide support and guidance to staff in relation to sign posting to specialist provision to assist in discharge planning processes. The Bed Manager will have responsibility for assessment of care needs and the development of programmes of care, and / or the implementation and evaluation of these programmes ensuring the patient’s journey through the hospital delivers the required care and will contribute towards service developments and innovations within the service.
