The post will involve supporting the department in providing diagnostic services and includes include data entry, dealing with telephone enquiries; equipment maintenance; stock control; and laboratory waste disposal. However data entry will be the main duty within this role. This position will not support IBMS registration portfolios and is not a route to becoming a Biomedical Scientist. We may offer a bank role if you are unsuccessful for the substantive role. Maintains awareness of changes and developments within the section/department. Receives and handles a wide range of enquiries, in person or by telephone, including matters of a confidential or a sensitive nature. Basic communication with patients and staff ensuring compliance with confidentiality rules, data protection act etc. Issues results in accordance with departmental SOPs.
