This is an independent role where you will be responsible for managing your own time. The role will require some travel to both areas however will be based in Tamworth . Relocation assistance will also be considered for the right applicant. About The Opportunity The role of the Mental Health Clinician with HASI Plus is a lead clinical role across the New England and Hunter area with one of Australia’s leading providers of comprehensive mental health support services. HASI Plus is a collaborative, residential support program delivered by Flourish Australia & the Hunter New England LHD. HASI Plus provides residential support to people with severe and persistent mental health issues & complex needs. This is achieved through effective collaboration with people we support, their families or carers, Flourish Australia staff, NSW Health, and various other stakeholders. The Mental Health Clinician will play a vital role in supporting participants, providing clinical advice, liaising with state-wide health agencies to promote our services, developing and implementing in-house training, as well as maintaining professional relationships across the local health district and allied health industry. The key tasks and responsibilities will include but is not limited to: Plan and coordinate clinical services relating to people accessing HASI Plus. Provide clinical support, direction and education to other staff as required. Analyze and report on HASI Plus Clinical supports performance across designated areas. Develop and implement person-driven, recovery-focused assessments, therapies and support plans to promote an individual’s independence, opportunities and choices. Work in close cooperation with the Local Health District Mental Health Clinician to jointly plan clinical care and rehabilitation for the people accessing our service. Meet all policy, contractual and legislative requirements and ultimately achieve good outcomes for the people who access HASI Plus. Ensure positive, ongoing and productive communication between Flourish Australia, the HNE LHD and any relevant stakeholder/funding body, as required Ensure that all engagement, assessments and support planning with people who access our services are recovery-focussed, least restrictive, culturally appropriate and accessible to the individual. Actively participate in relevant clinical activities including direct support, assessment and support planning, case conferences and reviews. Provide psycho-education and training to people who access our services, their family members and/or carers, relevant stakeholders and staff members to ensure appropriate supports and to reduce ignorance-related stigma of mental health issues. Utilise allied health qualifications and experience to enhance the service offering across Tamworth and Newcastle sites Collaborate with colleagues across Flourish to provide clinical advice and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives Engage state-wide local health district representatives to promote services and generate referral About You The Mental Health Clinician with HASI Plus will design and facilitate proactive, person-directed interventions to enhance the individuals understanding of their mental health issues, promote their self- determination, choices and resilience, and develop opportunities for community integration and citizenship.
