It is essential that you hold or have the capacity to achieve a SVQ 3 in Care and a HNC in Social Care or equivalent or qualification at or above SCQF level 7 that includes social policy, sociology and psychology. Qualifications at level 8 (SCQF) or above, approved for this grade of post by the SSSC are also acceptable. An understanding of the needs and difficulties of young people is essential as is the ability to work shifts and you must be registered with the SSSC or willing to achieve registration within 6 months of taking up post.
