We are looking for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our Stroke and Neurotherapy rotation at University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust. The post will be rotational through our Stroke Unit including a Hyper-acute service, Stroke Rehabilitation, Neurological Inpatients, Acquired Brain Injury unit and the Early Supported Discharge Team for Stroke and Neurology. We have recently added community neuro rehabilitation to the rotation hosted by Dorset HealthCare. The successful applicant will be required to provide neurological skilled Occupational Therapy assessment and treatment to clients with complex neurological problems, including assessment, acute rehabilitation, discharge planning and appropriate onward referral. We are looking for an innovative Occupational Therapist who is keen to develop their skills at a senior level, who can demonstrate effective communication skills and the ability to implement evidence-based practice. This role requires HCPC Registration . The team is an integrated Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Speech and Language Therapy team. Work within this post provides an ideal opportunity to develop skills in stroke and neuro assessment and early rehabilitation, supervision of junior staff/students and positive influence on patient care and service development. The post holder will be supported by experienced Band 7 therapists across the pathway. The skills/experience required for this post are as follows: Degree/Diploma in Occupational Therapy Post-graduate experience of working with adults with neurological impairments Involvement in supervision and/or appraisal of junior staff Car owner/driver Please see the person specification for the full requirements for the post. Participation in a 1 in 6 weekend working roster and 1 x week late shifts are integral to this role.
