We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic operational manager to join our QEH Medicine division in the role of Deputy General Manager. This role is pivotal to lead on the transformation and provision of high quality services for the community we serve. Working with an engaged team of dedicated healthcare professionals and the Divisional Management team including the Divisional Director, General Manager, Clinical Leads and Matrons, you will develop the services which deliver best practice whilst maintaining financial performance. You will be responsible for the delivery of safe, efficient and high quality care to our patients as well as progressing the services within a business focus environment. Our ideal candidate will have healthcare or NHS experience and possess a strong track record of operational delivery, strong financial management knowledge and skills, coupled with effective leadership skills. You will also have the ability to develop strong, productive and collaborative relationships both internally and with key stakeholders. To provide timely, efficient and effective operational management support for divisional service areas, assisting the lead clinicians and senior managers as required and ensuring that these services are responsive, innovative and provided to the highest possible clinical andperformance standards. To take forward agreed projects to improve patient pathway, service delivery and patient experience in agreed areas. To lead on ensuring that all performance/quality targets areachieved. To problem solve as appropriate, developing and implementing lasting solutions in conjunction with clinical and managerial colleagues. To be a key member of the divisionalmanagement team, taking full responsibility for actions and for keeping other team members fully informed at all times. You will be responsible for the delivery of all performance metrics and KPI (Quality, Operational and Financial) targets, proactively identifying expectations and developing improvement plans with service leaders and clinicians. To contribute to the production of the Divisions strategic and business plans, leading for identified specialities, as part of the annual planning cycle and on an ad-hoc basis as required. To monitor service delivery against strategic and business plans of the specialist medicine services throughout the year to ensure successful delivery. To work with the General Manager to produce accurate, high quality business cases for service developments, taking into account activity and income projections. To play a major role in modernising the operational delivery of services within the division in line with the strategic direction of the Trust, working with clinical teams to embed changes and deliver required efficiency improvements. Responsible for the delivery of identified quality and service improvement projects or development programmes that contribute to the modernisation of patient services To develop a cross-working relationship across all delivery areas of care.
