This exciting new unit will provide an excellent facility for both day cases and overnight cases for short stay surgical patients, including but not limited to ENT, gynae, urology and general surgery. The Surgical Hub will consist of 26-day case trolleys and 11 short stay overnight beds across the upper and lower levels. The successful candidate will work within a team to deliver the highest standard of pre and post - operative care to patients across a number of specialities. You will need to be dedicated, proactive, hardworking, flexible and adaptable to care for patients across a broad spectrum of surgical specialities. The Surgical Hub will offer a fantastic opportunity to gain insight and exposure to a number of surgical procedures which will further increase your knowledge and skill set within surgery. This unit offers an excellent opportunity to gain a wealth of experience in acute surgical nursing of this complex group of patients. You will be given the opportunity to develop a vast range of surgical nursing skills including the management of wounds, pain and discharge planning. This is a great opportunity to develop your nursing career and build on existing knowledge. You will have a supernumerary period and we have a practice development team that run bespoke study days to support you with your ongoing professional development. You will gain a broad range of surgical skills and will be welcomed into a supportive and friendly environment. We are seeking an experienced nursewho can demonstrate the essential criteria, and who has experience of leading a team.
