Candidates must be able to demonstrate clinical knowledge and the ability to work on their own initiative, automnously and as part of the multidisciplinary team. You will work closely with the Paediatric consultants, Paediatric Diabetes Nurse Speciaslist to ensure the delivery of specialist advice, the appropriate care and management of children within the diabetes service and maintaining the standards for the Paediatric Best Practice Tariff. The post holder will work in conjunction with the Paediatric Diabetes Specialist Nurse and other members of the multi disciplinary team, to enable the development of services for children with diabetes and their families. Identifying needs and facilitating the implementation of services within agreed standards to meet the best practice tariff, the National Service Framework for diabetes and NICE Guidelines. The post holder will participate in the on-call rota at weekends and bank holidays, to meet the best practice tariff. The post holder will work towards the development of the service in collaboration with the Clinical Nurse Specialist, clinicians and other service users. The post holder will contribute to influencing all aspects of care and management of patients within the specialty The post holder will promote the delivery of high quality, clinically effective care, prioritizing and utilizing research in every day practice. The provision of specialist advice and management plan for patients with complex care needs. In addition to ensuring that primary carers have the required skills and knowledge, so that the highest standards of care can be made available to the maximum number of patients.
