We are looking for a Part time Receptionist to work with us at the practice. We require a Medical Receptionist Care Navigator with initiative, drive, strong interpersonal, admin and IT skills. Previous reception/admin and/or customer services skills are desirable. Join our happy and dedicated team providing quality care to a diverse population. You will need to be a good communicator, fluent in English, written and spoken, with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills; especially under pressure. You will have a range of patient facing and administrative tasks, so excellent organisational skills and time management are critical. A caring, empathetic character is essential. Experienceof using Emis Web and working in a GP practice is preferred. Job Responsibilities: Answering telephone calls and dealing with face to face enquiries. Politely greeting patients and visitors to the surgery. Scheduling appointments for patients. Checking patients in. Dealing with all requests in an efficient and courteous manner. Screening enquiries for the doctors and medical staff. Registering new patients at the surgery. Explaining the practice procedures to new patients. Accurately collecting information and personal details about patients. Updating clinical system with appointments and personal details. Receiving urine and blood samples and sending them off to hospital laboratories. Arranging prescriptions for patients. Maintaining a clean reception and waiting area to show a professional image. Opening post and forwarding it onto the relevant parties. Opening and locking up the surgery. Covering colleagues during times of annual leave. Ensure building security have thorough knowledge of doors/windows/alarm. Keeping the reception area and waiting area, notice boards and leaflet dispensers tidy and free from obstructions and clutter To have a thorough knowledge of all our Practice Policies and Procedures To work in accordance with our Practice protocols To maintain a computerised medical database To receive deliveries into the practice and process the relevant accompanying paperwork To adhere to the practice protocol for incoming and outgoing petty cash Any other tasks allocated by managers About us Primary Key responsibilities: The following are the core responsibilities of the Care Navigator. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks. This will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels and training: Process and effectively signpost patients to the appropriate healthcare professional, depending on the presenting condition Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request appropriately Maintain and Monitor all online requests/Econsults are action in a timely manner Initiating contact with and responding to, requests from patients, team members and external agencies Clinically code data on Emis Web System accurately Patients registration, deductions, Iron Mountain tasks Input data into patients healthcare records as necessary Direct requests for information, i.e., SAR, insurance/solicitors letters and DVLA forms to the administrative team Manage all queries as necessary in an efficient manner Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times Monitor and maintain the reception area and notice boards Support Care Navigators/Administrators, providing cover during staff absences Scan patient related documentation and attach scanned documents to patients healthcare records and code accurately. Complete opening and closing procedures in accordance with the duty rota Produce, maintain and participate in the Care Navigators rota Undertake all mandatory training and induction programmes, and ensuring all mandatory training is maintained and up to date Support the with the Patient Participation Group related matters Support the health promotion lead and display promotional material on the allocated noticed boards and in the waiting room Attend a formal appraisal with their manager at least every 12 months.
