The post holder will help develop surveillance systems, provide analytical support during outbreaks, respond to ad-hoc requests from stakeholders and work on service based research as required. Although the post holders will lead on the routine report production and development of their subject area, there will be the need to work across a number of infectious disease subject areas and programmes of work as required.For this position, the successful candidate must have a relevant honours degree in a scientific or numerate subject, or equivalent relevant experience. They should also have demonstrable experience of public health work and expertise in carrying our advanced analysis of complex data sets. We are looking for a team player with an enthusiasm for epidemiology and surveillance development, with excellent communication skills, who can demonstrate a flexible approach in orderto meet the needs of the team The new post holder will provide analytical support to the development and maintenance of public health surveillance schemes in the CDSC. This will include developing analysis plans and advising on efficient analysis of large datasets, as required. Support may be across any of the CDSC areas of expertise as required, including: Blood Borne Viruses, Sexual Health and Tuberculosis Healthcare Associated Infection, Antimicrobial Resistance and Prescribing Programme (HARP) Gastrointestinal Infections and Zoonoses Vaccine Preventable Disease and Respiratory Infection, and; Field Epidemiology and Genomics Cross-cutting groups include statistics, data science and genomics; settings-based surveillance; and environmental surveillance.
