We are looking for someone who is eager to gain valuable life skills, are enthusiastic, adaptable and organised to work as a Centre Assistant/Lifeguard. Ensuring the safety of all users of the facilities at the Park Rehabilitation Centre. The lifeguard qualification is an advantage but not necessary as the successful candidate must be to be willing to undertake the qualification, but on applying the applicant must be a strong, competent swimmer. All shortlisted candidates must be willing to undertake a swim test. This vacancy would be ideal for someone who is looking for evenings and weekend work to either fit around a busy family, studying or just looking for a change of pace and career. You will be working in a fun, lively environment with likeminded people and help to inspire others support their rehabilitation following clinical intervention, to work together and deliver their very best. Work patterns will include evenings and weekends. The main duties of this role are to maintain good supervision over the swimming pool and gym sessions. Communicate effectively with all centre users and colleagues, and have an awareness of problems and preventing accidents. Preparation of activities for service users and cleaning duties are also part of the working day in always ensuring a customer focused environment. Prerequisites for this course are: Able to jump or dive into deep water. Able to swim 50 metres in less than 60 seconds for their assessment. Be able to swim 100 metres on their front and 100 metres on their back competently. Able to tread water for 30 seconds. Able to surface dive to the floor of the pool (deep end) - usually 1.8-3m depending on pool. Able to climb out of the pool unaided (without use of steps). Confident and not afraid of water, getting their face wet or being submerged. It is the responsibility of the candidates to ensure that they are familiar with and can meet the prerequisites they must satisfy the post. You will be provided with 2 uniforms for when working on poolside and when working with income generation sessions. Ongoing training and development will be provided.
