To lead and supervise the workload of the dispensary pharmacy assistants. Re-assigning tasks as necessary. To dispense inpatient, outpatient, discharge, leave and repeat prescriptions according to SOPs, including those patients requiring medication compliance aids. This will include inputting prescription data accurately on the pharmacy stock control system To carry out reception duties in pharmacy, including handing over medication to patients, clinical staff and porters To be responsible for the general tidiness, checking storage and distribution of medicines and adequate stocking of the dispensary, and ensure good stock rotation in order to minimise expired stock. To act as cover to the outpatient pharmacy technician when they are not rostered and assist in covering the service during leave. To carry out top ups of medication on wards against an approved stock list, including stock for emergency drugs cupboards. To support with stock list reviews. To complete a ward stock expiry date check every 3 months and facilitating medication returns to dispensary where required.
