We are a forward thinking, dynamic nursing team who, have the patient at the heart of our service provision. This role will include all of the traditional practice nurse skills, delivered in a highly efficient and effective manner to ensure we deliver quality care to the optimal amount of patients. At Seaside we have a very close and supportive nursing team, who take clinical and well-being support to another level, this can be evidenced by our outstanding learner feedback. The nursing team also work collaboratively with the wider general practice team. At times and within competency the nurses at Seaside work independently in the surgery in the absence of a GP possessing the initiative and confidence necessary to do so. The applicant should be able to work autonomously and able to work under pressure, and hold a can-do attitude and have previous experience of working as a Practice Nurse in General Practice. This position will be full time of 37.5 hours. To meet the needs of a diverse population in line with local and national policy. To carry out immunisations, these would include routine, travel and newly developed treatments. To assist in diagnostic treatments such as blood tests, peak flow and ECG, spirometry. To provide long term treatments to patient who are being treated for cancer, osteoporosis or blood disorders. To support patients with new diagnosis, by providing information and guidance. Provide expert nursing treatments for minor injuries, management of dressing of leg ulcers and wounds Ear irrigation. To provide life style coaching and advise to patients with long term conditions About us To undertake a range of nursing assessments and provide appropriate care and treatment in conjunction with the GPs, Nurse Practitioners and other practice nurses or independently, in line with competence and need. To maintain or improve standards of care and be actively involved in identifying practice population needs. To demonstrate and apply knowledge related to the Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF). To provide therapeutic interventions within a broader health promotion/public health strategy and enable patients to take action to meet their priorities for health. To help provide education and training regarding chronic clinical conditions as required. To provide specialist advice to patients and relatives in relation to COPD, Asthma and, where qualified, Diabetes chronic disease conditions.
