Maintain a professional attitude at all times, developing the role of the Resuscitation Officer in the best interests of the patient and profession. Provide specialist resuscitation advice and act as a resource, providing clinical expertise and support to all service managers and health care professionals. Meet requirements of the Resuscitation Council (UK) to maintain cardio-pulmonary resuscitation accredited provider/instructor status. Plan and deliver the teaching, assessment and evaluation of resuscitation skills teaching methods to all staff members. To be responsible for ensuring safe use of resuscitation equipment such as defibrillators and simulation skills equipment through training, assessment, and evaluation. Act as a role model actively seeking opportunities to enhance the knowledge of others in issues relating to resuscitation. Possess knowledge of research and audit. Collate information to create and format spreadsheets, databases and reports using computerised systems. Possess developed communication skills. Works collaboratively with others, appreciating the roles of other staff and agencies involved in the care of patients to ensure optimal safe patient care. To provide professional advice and consultancy to the Trust on all aspects of cardio-pulmonary resuscitation including policy, risk assessment, infection control, equipment purchase and audit. To initiate research and implement and monitor robust audit mechanisms for cardiac arrest calls, equipment, DNACPR (ReSPECT), training needs analysis, effectiveness of clinical practice and training outcomes. To lead, co-ordinate and deliver appropriate cardio-pulmonary resuscitation training to all Trust staff and learners. Operationally manage the resuscitation skills room as a multi professional education and training resource. Work in collaboration with other clinical education providers to provide high quality accredited courses. To manage the resuscitation education budget and income generated through accredited courses. Provide specialist knowledge, advice and guidance on resuscitation education and related issues for all staff and managers within the Trust. Promote and support an active approach to resuscitation education and service development across the Trust. Act as the Lead for resuscitation and present reports to Resuscitation Committee, Learning Operations Group and Patient Safety Learning Collaborative Group when necessary.
