To work within a team, to supervise, nurture, counsel and develop the knowledge and skills of staff. Ensure a multi-disciplinary approach to patient centred care delivery, which builds on the philosophy of greater involvement of patients and their relatives / carers. Take overall responsibility when leading a shift for ensuring that the compliment of staff is appropriate to deliver the service from a skill mix and skills perspective. Work closely with the multidisciplinary team providing them with professional and clinical nursing expertise. Able to give patients a balanced view of risks and benefits of symptom management. Be competent in the use of equipment used to monitor patients, i.e. 12 lead ECG, non-invasive blood pressure monitoring, infusion pumps and intravenous drug therapy.
