We provide services to two mental health hospitals - Berrywood Hospital, Northampton and St Mary's Hospital, Kettering. We also provide services to community hospital sites in Corby, Wellingborough, Brackley and Danetre and hospices in Kettering and Northampton as well as a wide range of community-based services including community mental health, community nursing, children's services, sexual health, podiatry, therapy and specialist dental services. This is a pivotal position in the Pharmacy Department and the post holder will support the Medication Safety Officer and Chief Pharmacist to progress the medicines safety agenda. Along with Medicines Safety Officer (MSO) you will support the development, delivery and optimisation of the medicines safety agenda for the Trust. You will also lead, develop, deliver and evaluate input into antimicrobial stewardship and infection management throughout the Trust in accordance with local and national standards and policies, ensuring the safe, clinical and cost-effective use of antimicrobials. Interviews are planned for Monday 9th September 2024. You will support the MSO to co-ordinate medicines related Clinical Governance activities across the Trust ensuring governance of medicines management is fully integrated within the organisation. You will support the running of the Trust Medicines Safety Group, to produce Trust wide medicines safety communications. You will work with the infection prevention and control team (IPC) and key clinicians to support the development of a Trust antimicrobial stewardship strategy and review antimicrobial prescribing data. You will also have a clinical commitment in providing a clinical pharmacy service to an allocated wards within the Trust and will report to the Deputy Chief Pharmacist.
