We are looking for highly motivated individuals to be part of the team in theatres at the James Paget University Hospital. This exciting opportunity will mean you are part of a theatre team that is currently in transformation with the addition of two new orthopaedic elective hub theatres and the addition of robotic surgery. This role requires you to have adaptability and expert knowledge in one speciality but also proficient in another and the willingness to learn multiple. The Department has 13 Theatres which provide services for General Surgery, Colorectal, Breast, Gynaecological, Urology, ENT, Ophthalmology, Obstetrics, Trauma, Orthopaedics and Maternity alongside satelite anaesthesia opportunities. You must be a Registered Operating Department Practitioner (HCPC). You will be given the opportunity to progress your professional development skills-based and educationally through our embedded band 5 development pathway, with the additional opportunity to develop skills in Surgical First Assist extended role. Newly qualified practitioners are welcome to apply, a full preceptorship pack would be offered to any successful candidate. You will work as part of the multi-disciplinary theatre team to provide care during the delivery of clinical services throughout the patients perioperative journey. The role requires an ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team, within the appropriate legal requirements, acts, policies, procedures and guidelines. The successful applicants must be able to communicate effectively with all members of the multi-disciplinary team and be versatile to the department requirements.
