The successful candidate should have experience in a similar role or be motivated and keen to learn, together with excellent communication skills. The role would predominantly be a Health Care Assistant with the opportunity to support the admin team on a Friday. Training will be offered. Experience working within Primary Care and SystmOne would be an advantage. The role consists of running your own clinic of patients as well as supporting the GPs and Practice Nurse. Your hours would include face to face appointments as well as administrative time to complete stock checks, undertake room checks and regular checks of the emergency trolley and GP bags. You would be expected to work within your competency and the role would consist of venepuncture, ECGs, hypertension reviews, dressings, basic observations, urinalysis, NHS healthchecks, vaccinations including flu, B12, covid and RSV. The administrative hours would be to support the team on reception; answering the telephone, greeting patients, handing out medication, actioning tasks from GPs, arranging appointments etc. About us Job summary: The Health Care Assistant will work as part of the clinical team carrying out a range of duties ensuring that the highest standard of care is afforded to patients at all times. Duties and responsibilities: Undertake routine tasks related to patient care ensuring clinical protocols are followed, referring to GPs when necessary. Routine tasks will include: dressings, removal of sutures, blood pressure monitoring, phlebotomy and ECGs. Undertake routine preventative work related to patient care including routine flu, covid, pneumococcal and RSV vaccinations. Assist GPs with minor surgery and coil fittings. Chaperone and assist patients where appropriate who are being examined by another clinician. Monitor QOF targets as required and maintain a high standard of achievement. Participate in any relevant health promotion and screening activities to promote the health and wellbeing of patients as well as referring to preventative programmes. Maintain the GP clinical rooms: stock levels are maintained, and items are rotated as necessary and maintain and clean any equipment. Maintain accurate records. Monitor the temperature of the treatment room fridge, ensuring the protocol is followed. Attend and participate in any Practice meetings when required. Ensure that anomalies are reported to a senior member of staff. Notify the GP/Nurse of any significant patient issues. Liaise with and assist members of the administration team. Undertake monthly rooms checks and checks of emergency trolley and GP bags. Job summary: Receptionist Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way. Provide general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone. Job responsibilities: Ensure an effective and efficient reception service is provided to patients and any other visitors to the practice Deal with all general enquiries, explain procedures and make new and follow-up appointments.
