This will imply particularly to children with Down syndrome. The post holder would have opportunity to participate in other clinics depending on their area of interest and would be supported where training is required. Possible area of interests are; a. Neurodevelopmental team participating in autism pathway particularly post diagnosis b. Involvement in sleep pathway for CYP requiring specific support c. Carrying out comprehensive health needs assessments of children and young people with complex needs within different aspects of the overall Child Development Service, for example: carrying out developmental assessments, taking detailed neurodevelopmental histories, carrying out school-based observations. d. Neurodisability participating in multidisciplinary clinics for children with health needs such as Cerebral Palsy. Attend relevant meetings, as required, including safeguarding and child protection meetings, team business meetings and specialist meetings e.g. Down syndrome pathway, Autism pathway, as needed. Please note this is not an exhaustive list as the role may evolve over time according to the needs of the local population and the post-holder's career development. Training can be provided if needed. We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated person to join our service of Community Paediatricians and Physician Associate in providing care for children and young people (CYP) with additional needs and supporting their families /carers. You will be a core member of the community paediatric multidisciplinary team and we work to deliver high quality, proactive service aimed at improving the outcomes of our service users and this involves working within the multi-disciplinary team at Carmelita House and services around the children and young people, including General Practitioners, Early Start Teams, Social Services, Special Educational Needs Department and voluntary agencies. The Specialist Nursing role require individuals to have or develop expertise in the speciality, be able to teach and support staff in the clinical areas, undertake audit or quality improvement projects as required and to gain patient feedback to review and improve services.
