The role of a band 2 health care assistant is to support the registered Nurses and senior Sister in the provision of care to individuals and their families Assist the registered nurse in the planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care. Assisting with feeding, mobilising and encouraging patient activities.Fluid balance charts/food charts At the direction of the registered nurse participate fully in the delivery of planned nursing care and work collaboratively and cooperatively with others to ensure all needs are met. Establish and promote effective communication and relationships with staff, patients, relatives and carers. Provide support to patients, relatives and carers to enable them to actively participate in the delivery of care. Maintain and promote privacy and dignity of patients. To participate in the moving and handling of patients in a safe manner to maximise their physical comfort and minimise risk to both the patient and other members of the care giving team. As directed by care team, obtain specimens, records results and send them to the relevant department as necessary. Provide escort and transfer of patients as directed.
