Lung Patient Navigator - Cancer Admin with NHS Scotland in Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included. This is a fulltime post of 37 hours per week, with a shift pattern of Monday to Friday (standard office hours). This is a fixed-term post for 2 years. There are 4 posts which will be based on site at various sites across NHS GGC. This is a new role which will support individuals with potential or diagnosed lung cancer. Working together with the clinical teams, you will be a contact point for patients and assist in the co-ordination of patient care and support, ensuring that patients move through their pathways in a timeous and co-ordinated manner and have access to relevant support throughout. This is an exciting opportunity for individual to be involved in the further evolution and development of post. Essential Knowledge, Training & Experience Required HNC /SVQ 3 Business Administration or equivalent experience Ability to prioritise workload and exercise initiative. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Motivational and persuasive skills. Excellent IT skills, with good working knowledge of Word, Excel and Access. Sound Organisational Skills With Proven Experience Of Achieving Targets. Ability to work under pressure Ability to layout reports Experience of working unsupervised and managing own workload. Advanced keyboard skills Desirable Previous experience in Health Care Environment Knowledge of computer systems in use in NHSGGC Medical terminology Knowledge of cancer and cancer referral pathways Experience of Diagnostic Imaging services, waiting lists and appointment processes within an NHS environment.
