Trust Doctor ST3 in Respiratory Medicine with Barts Health NHS Trust in London, England, United Kingdom
We are looking for an ST3 or above in Respiratory and General Medicine at Newham University Hospital. This would not include any on-call commitment and would be primarily ward based. The post holder requires MRCP (or European equivalent) and previous NHS experience. This is also an amazing opportunity for someone looking to develop their portfolio with an abundance of opportunities and dedicated time to lead on projects and audits. They would also be encouraged and supported to implement their own ideas, with help from both managers and clinicians. The post is ideal for candidates wishing to pursue a career in Acute Medicine or Respiratory Medicine. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to develop skills in bronchoscopy, pleural procedures and pleural ultrasound. Furthermore they will gain experience in respiratory medicine including Covid pneumonia, TB, lung cancer and acute NIV and CPAP. There are ample research and career development opportunities within the department to help candidates apply for a training number in acute and respiratory medicine if this is what they are looking for. Please note start and end dates are flexible. Main duties and responsibilities The post holder will join 4 other registrars on the firm to share ward duties including managing inpatients including those on acute NIV under the care of the respiratory consultants, chest clinics and respiratory referrals within the hospital. The post holder will be expected to attend the morbidity and mortality (M&M) meetings and diagnostic Lung MDT meeting. Training will be available for pleural ultrasound, pleural procedures and bronchoscopy. The post holder will be encouraged to take part in audit, governance including incident reporting and education. The posts are ideal for candidates wishing to pursue a career in Acute Medicine or Respiratory Medicine and who seek to be clinical leaders in the future.
