Ophthamology Trust Grade Doctor (CF3+) with Barts Health NHS Trust in London, England, United Kingdom
We are looking for a dedicated candidate for the post of Trust Grade doctor in Ophthalmology. Primary objectives are to obtain high quality clinical and research experience, meeting the increasing needs of the Ophthalmology department at the Royal London Hospital. The Royal London Hospital eye department has a busy service with existing consultants sub-specialising in medical retina, cataract, cornea, glaucoma, oculo-plastics, paediatrics, and Neuro-ophthalmology. The post will be based at RLH supported by consultant colleagues, the trust and trainee doctors, optometrists, orthoptists, and nursing staff. The successful candidate will support the growth of the service while ensuring the maintenance of RTT 18-week performance. Their role will involve contributing to the Adult Ophthalmology Service at the Royal London Hospital, covering Cataract, Medical Retina, Glaucoma, and Neuro-ophthalmology. They will also participate in emergency ophthalmic care and the three-tier on-call rota, with a 1 in 7 frequency for non-resident first on-call duties. Additionally, they will engage in clinical trials, research, audits, and teaching while managing administrative responsibilities related to patient care. The role includes responding to queries from patients, general practitioners, and colleagues, as well as assisting the SDM with complaint responses when required.
