Cardiac Rehabilitation Support Worker with NHS Scotland in Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included. This is a permanent, part-time post of 18.5 hours per week. Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part time hours. An exciting opportunity has arisen within the cardiac rehabilitation service for a part time (21.3hours), permanent Band 3 Cardiac rehabilitation Support Worker to work at The Queen Elizabeth University Hospital (QEUH). This post will support the provision of the outpatient cardiac rehabilitation service, inclusive of a hospital and community based exercise and education programme which is a valuable part of the cardiac patient recovery. This post is part of a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) which provides safe and effective supervision and support to the patient during their rehabilitation programme. The post also provides support to trained staff allowing for valuable clinical time to be utilised appropriately. The ideal candidate will be motivated and enthusiastic and will work directly with outpatients as part of the MDT implementing treatment programmes under the direction of the Cardiac rehabilitation team. You should have formal training and/or experience in a relevant discipline, SVQ level III / SCQF Level 7 Scottish Vocational Qualification or equivalent in health or care support. Essential to have prior experience working with patients in a rehabilitation setting Computer literacy and numeracy skills are essential. Regular supervision and support will be offered as well as training opportunities as required. A good working knowledge of routine IT (e.g. document preparation, data inputting) and common methods of digital communication (e.g. email).
