This is a permanent, part-time position of 22.7 hours per week, with a rotational shift pattern. Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part time hours. As a Healthcare Support Worker you will be working at the heart of our multidisciplinary teams delivering high quality, patient-centred care. You will be supervised and report to an Registered Nurse. This will require you to be able to communicate effectively with a broad range of individuals, both verbally and in writing, to share our commitment to maintaining high standards in everything we do, and to demonstrate that you can work effectively within a team that behaves in accordance with our vision and values. We are seeking to recruit an individual who is committed to delivering outstanding patient care and take pride in what they do. A caring, professional manner and excellent communication skills are essential. You must work well in a high pressure environment and have the ability to adapt to challenging situations. The post will be based in Acute Medicine Receiving Unit which is a 68 bedded unit that supports a 24-72 hour patient journey. This area provides inpatient care which is patient-centred and aims to maximise each patient’s potential for recovery, supported by an excellent Multi Disciplinary Team. We are looking for an innovative individual with experience working within a healthcare setting preferably with acute care experience. Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to demonstrate a caring attitude. Essential requirements would be venepuncture/cannulation / blood glucose recording / wound care. Induction Standards & Code of Conduct Your performance must comply with the national "Mandatory Induction Standards for Healthcare Support Workers 2009" and the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers. You will be required to achieve the mandatory Induction standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland and to comply with the Code of Conduct throughout your employment.
