An exciting opportunity for a Tier 1 (ST1+/SHO equivalent) to work within the Neonatology department has arisen at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of our friendly neonatal team delivering high quality care for over 4500 deliveries per year. Clinicalo Day to day participation in clinical activities with direct resident tier wo support both day and night. Consultants provide resident day and evening clinical supervision and care and are non resident overnight.o Acute Neonatal Unit cover and attendance at deliveries providing NLS if required.o General ward duties, including patient reviews and day to day assistance with management of the neonatal unit, delivery suite and postnatal ward.o Assessing and managing critically ill or injured babies.o 1 in 7 cover on the tier 1 rota, working resident standard days, long days and night shiftso To develop enhanced clinical skills, especially in the assessment and management of acutely ill babies.o To have excellent team-working skills with the abilities and professional attitude to work well in a multi-professional team.o To deliver clinical and quality targets agreed both nationally and locally with clinical teams and commissioners.o To follow patients throughout their clinical pathways. About us The post-holder will be expected to contribute to the bespoke full shift rota which is roughly a 1 in 4. The rota is compliant with the terms and conditions of the 2016 Junior Doctor Contract and WTD and has been carefully designed to maximise training opportunities for doctors whilst maintaining a safe and efficient service, with an even spread of long days and nights. The post holder will be 1 of the 4 doctors contributing to the full shift rota with a weekend frequency of roughly 1 in 4 with 21-night shifts across a 27-week reference period and is prospectively covered for annual and study leave.
