The Adult Autism Keyworker (ND) service sits within the Adult Learning Disability and Neurodevelopmental service within Kent Community Health NHS Trust.The service employs a small team of multi disciplinary Band 7 and Band 6 specialisms including OccupationalTherapy, Speech and Language, Mental Health Nurse, social worker. This small clinical team provide linemanagement support, supervision and professional development to a team of 10 wte B4 Keyworkers and PeerSupport Workers with lived experience.The clinical team are available to co-work cases as part of the Band 4 workforce development as well as therequirement to hold a small caseload (3 - 5 active patients) of more complex patients as required.The clinical workforce will be required to work directly with core service providers across Kent & Medway toenhance the accessibility and patient experience of core services across Kent and Medway by adults withautism.The main focus of this post is to provide psychosocial / psycho educational post diagnostic support for autisticadults across Kent and Medway. Senior Speech and language Therapists or Mental Health Nurses within the team will work closely with thepeople who use our services, families, friends and carers and play an important contribution in how peopleexperience our services.Senior Speech and Language Therapists or Senior Mental Health Nurses are expected to be kind, responsiveand professional, contributing to the quality of the services we provide by: Keeping the people who use our services safe through the use of sound clinical skills and effective risk assessments Ensuring the best possible clinical outcomes by using up-to-date skills and adhering to evidence-based policies and procedures Ensuring the people that use our services have a good experience by respecting, empowering and working in partnership with them. We believe that the best healthcare is delivered by multi-disciplinary teams working well together and in partnership with other teams and services to provide seamless care. Senior Speech and Language Therapistsand Senior Mental Health Nurses work as part of a team and contribute to its success by being a role model,supervising members of the B4 Autism Keyworker and Autism Peer Support Workers workforce (unregistered),to ensure they are working to the professional standards required and provide leadership within the team.
