Community Nurse - Learning Disabilities with Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust in Bridport
Are you an enthusiastic, forward thinking nurse who can adapt to changing priorities and deliver high quality nursing care? The Learning Disability Service in Dorset is staffed by a passionate and dedicated team and is looking for a like-minded nurse to join us. This is an excellent opportunity to practice within the challenging yet rewarding field of community learning disability nursing. Working 30 -37.5 hours per week the successful candidate will be experienced in working in partnership with people with learning disabilities, their families and carers and supporting them to live successfully in the community. You will be committed to improving outcomes for our service users and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. NHS pension scheme holiday and sick pay NHS discount and salary sacrifice scheme The band 6 role advertised will be based in Bridport but covering the West Dorset area Car driver essential. You will be able to demonstrate your commitment to work proactively and in partnership with people with learning disabilities, their families and carers and support them to live successfully in the community. This role requires you to use excellent interpersonal and communication skills to support service users and their families and to maintain effective links with mainstream services. You will be committed to supporting individual's health needs and providing health promotion to support and empower people with a learning disability. The team use their specialist clinical skills and experience to assess, plan care, offer treatment and review, working closely alongside colleagues from other disciplines, external care providers as well as the individual and their families. The team uses a combination of virtual and in-person contacts with professionals and service users alike. Clinical documentation is in electronic form and training is given to all new staff. Working hours are Monday - Friday 9am to 5pm, with some flexibility to meet individual need.
